Branding

CATEGORIES:  Branding

A collection of small branding clients looking for a logo and minimal

brand design to capture the mission and vision of their company.

Ridgeline Equestrian

I was approached to create the logo and brand for Ridgeline Equestrian, an equine hunter/jumper trainer that is just starting out in West Michigan. We sat down over coffee and talked. I quickly discovered she had a great idea of what she liked and didn't like, as well as a sampling of colors she preferred. It was my job to make her ideas come to life. After many sketches and rough designs, we quickly narrowed in on one style and refined that to be the brand she was envisioning for her company.

Michigan Horseshoers Association

I was approached by a board member to update their existing logo to a more refined and accurate logo. We discussed the proper anatomy of a horse shoe as well as the anvil and what refining they were hoping to receive to their current logo.

Being a long living association, the original logo files had been mostly lost, resulting in only low resolution jpg files available. This resulted in a recreation of their original file, updating to an accurate file, as well as production of a brand kit for their future use.

Hudson Creek Equestrian

The client teaches a variety of different english lessons with a focus on dressage and jumping. She wanted to reflect the variation in her teaching disciplines in her logo by not featuring one style over the other.

By elongating the H, it resembles an oxer that the horse is jumping over while a dressage horse is trotting the other direction. The box grounds the horses and encloses the logo while equestrian is scripted into the border of the box.

Colors feature deep rich colors of burgundy and navy which reflect the prestige of the disciplines and high class style of the program.

Complete Power Washing

I had a client opening their own power washing company. They didn't want to tie to only power washing specific items, so they were hoping to keep their logo generic and not corner themselves in.

They landed on a concept with a man holding a power washing wand (resembling the wand they use) with a stream of water spraying out the nozzle. Brand colors are navy, with a brighter blue compliment. Secondary colors include various greens and orange yellows for varity.

Cedar Ridge Stables

Cedar Ridge Stables is a new boarding and training facility located in Cedar Springs, Michigan. The owner was looking for branding elements to be created to promote her business. The farm colors were hunter green and a light gray, so she wanted to incorporate those into her brand.

As a pleasure rider, the owner wanted the horse to reflect that (as seen by the chosen icon). The horse was created from a pleasure horse image and redone in a silhouette form. The banner that contains "Cedar Ridge" acts as both the ground and banner for the name, while stables is in gray beneath.

Northland Farms

Northland Farms is an established dressage and jumping facility in Northeast Grand Rapids. They were looking to get a logo they could use on banners at competitions, as well as around the farm and on promotional items.

Keeping the rich colors that they have used in promotional farm material before, we used a deep burgundy and hunter green as their two brand colors. The elegant script encompasses the rich history of the farm while the sans serif brings in a modern touch. This is tied in by the thin diamond surrounding the two horses, one jumping and one dressage that are appearing from the middle of the diamond in two directions.
